The Raritan Framework provides an interface layer by which entity extraction technologies can be integrated into search and data processing applications. The basic entity extraction module is the Term Extractor which has been implemented using ClearForest technology, IBM's UIMA framework and with Raritan Technologies SearchSources, which can be used to extract or mark up entities that are contained within some data source.

Entity extraction tools are used in data processing applications (see ResultTermsCollector) and auto tagging operations.
